Ramanarayan Sen of Chinsurah shifted to Narail ,now in Bangladesh , around 1740 CE. He , for his benevolence and wisdom , was conferred with the title of Bhadra meaning Gentleman by society. Ramanarayan Sen Bhadra was a merchant of pan and paddy. Dwarikanath was his successor ,legal adviser to the Dutta Roy dynasty of Narail and a learned advocate.In 1765 the puja shifted to India.Somedays ,due to some unavoidable circumstances, the icon worship stopped and instead patachitra was introduced.Then it regained its glory.
