After the retreat of rumbling monsoon clouds, comes golden autumn, and it brings the joy of the arrival of Goddess Durga, our mother. The biggest and the most sacred festival of Bengal and the Bengalies. The most amazing part is – it is celebrated by all religion, caste, age and sections of people of Bengal and India. People migrate from other states and country to Bengal for this occasion.

Kolkata being the capital of Bengal host this festival in the biggest manner. The festival starts from “Maha Panchami” and ends on “Maha Dashami” lasting for six days.

Only in Kolkata more than 400 Pujas are being organised, out of which more than 100 puja have  budgets crossing crore rupees each. Every puja has its own theme, events, functions that leave no stones unturned to make their puja unique and best. Celebrities like politicians, Movie Stars, participate in these pujas  from inaugurating the puja to performing in various events within these six days making the budget sky high.

The commercial aspect begins from start to end, witnessing 50,000 crowds visiting each of these puja pandals each day and you find the leading News papers and Electronic media coverings the pujas and the crowd.

The total estimated crowd for Kolkata Durga Puja crosses 2 crore each day, visiting each and every pandals day and night.

Each big Club engages 10 to 15 thousand people directly or indirectly for the event. One more statistics shows more than 2 lakh Police personnel are appointed specially for safe guarding the city and the festival during Durga puja.

The visibility in such an important festival will enhance and add glory to our State and to our city Kolkata.
