The conception of joint families seems to be an obsolete practise with the emergence of nuclear families in the 
21st century. However; our housing society “Ananda Complex” provides us the fulfilment, protection and privileges to be a part of a vast cheerful joint family. Our society consists of six multi-storey apartments with multiple flat owners from different origins and we coexist like a harmonious family where we share our happiness, sorrows and promote a feeling of unity and integrity. We, the Flat Owner’s Association of Ananda Complex organize various cultural and religious festivals throughout the year wherein Durga Puja is one of our major attractions. We celebrate Durga Puja with great enthusiasm and cheer. Over the past 26 years of our Durga Puja celebration, we have established a strong brand association and brand recognition with renowned corporate entities as we have proudly partnered with them toward celebrating this auspicious festival. Numerous renowned personalities and celebrities from all genres like music, politics, dance and drama have graced us with their presence over these years. Now, for the last few years the next generation of our family “the youngsters” have taken up the responsibility of carrying out this extravaganza with ecstatic enthusiasm with full support and guidance from their forebears. The valued experience and knowledge of our seniors has made our task more acute and cherishing. Their guidance showed us the path of solidarity and we have savoured our success together every year. Our endeavour has started showing astounding results as our “Durgotsav” had won various accolades. Last year The Times of India newspaper has awarded us with the prestigious “Certificate of Honour” as we have been selected amongst the top 50 category of Durga Puja organised by various housing societies in Kolkata. As a result of this; now we are extremely popular within our periphery of north Kolkata and have witnessed enormous footfalls in our Puja Pandal. This year our Durgotsav is going to be more attractive with novel innovations and creativities as we are having visitors from far and wide. During this festive season, we organise get-togethers, games, cultural fests, art competitions etc. where all residents come forward to showcase their talent. We also publish colourful souvenir which has become an integral part of our festival. The rich content of our souvenir comprise of short stories, poetries, write-ups and advertisements. These have been well received and acknowledged by our sponsors, partners and well-wishers. May this learning of ours inspire us to complement every endeavour of this grand celebration with the generous blessings of Ma Durga as “Knowledge makes life blossom into a state of perpetual happiness and celebration with more creativity”
